Desirous: Vivienne Westwood men's blazer

Normally I'd question the sanity of a men's that isn't, but for this Vivienne Westwood dark grey, wool suit I'll make the exception. "Isn't", you see, is the key. For what appears to be a mix of blazer and waistcoat is in fact a single piece, the waist coat fused to the blazer to imply layering, and a mix of amber buttons and gold-orb chain fastening the front. Attention grabbing gimmickry yes, but this is a one piece / two piece that has all the details required of a  from its shoulders to its peaked lapels.

What dreamy fashion feels like: Milin

Sometimes a collection jumps out at you, clutches you by the heart and drags you into a state of unequivocal adoration. Milin's spring 2011 look book did just that to me when I saw it. It's the silhouettes; the details that are feminine without being too soft, a ruffled neckline, a row of ptiered over another; and those perfectly dreamy colours made to reflect the transient colours of the changing skies. When it's not off tarrying in summer dress territory, the collection flirts briefly with exaggerated  in neatly tailored cuts. Even the woodstacked shoes with their wind-around fabric ties are the perfect addition to the range.



Marwood lace bow ties: daily discovery

It was some  that recently had us pondering the accessory as womenswear. Now here's another brand crafting ties that are equally as appealing to the fairer sex. Much as lace has been a trend for our clothing, Marwood London takes it to accessories with ties and bow ties available in several different types of lace as well as mesh.



Not so knitted: Mark Fast for Danier

The full look book for collaboration with Canadian leather retailer Danier has been released. The Canadian-born designer previewed looks from the capsule collection during his mainline show at London Fashion Week in February, and now the final seven pieces have been revealed.
Steering away from the skimpy, skin-tight knitwear that Fast is famous for, the collection is almost exclusively fashioned in black leather. The pair of cropped dungarees will go down well amongst the fiercely tomboyish, as will the boxy black leather jacket with funnel neck and chunky fastenings. But equally there's plenty of sex appeal in the pair of LBD's (leather, of course) with cord detailing running along the side seems. The stand-out piece for me, though, is the fur-lined hooded coat. Somewhere between a parka and a cape, it makes goth chic look very wearable indeed.

Now the very  that comprise the guide are in full swing, or at least much closer to hitting our wardrobes than they once were. Women's spring 2011 fashion trends: key looks

'70s glamour

Just as the '50s and '60s are back, so too are particular elements of the '70s. There are two main aesthetics: '70s bohemian, and '70s sophisticated glamour. Both of these shoe trends are included not because they're new shoe trends for 2011, but because they're shoe trends from 2010 whose elements will still have an impact in 2011. WHAT IS FASHION ?

There are many different dictionary definitions of the word fashion. For example, manner, mode, and way, but what is your personal style and how would you define it? Is this a topic of great importance to you or are you just in the dark when it comes to "what's hot and what's not"? People use fashion as a way to express themselves although many people do not realise that fashion today is all about imitating and trying to impress others.
The word "fashion" in itself covers a wide range of different styles and trends. Many people "dress to impress" and others simply dress to be noticed. Young people all over the world are becoming extremely fashion conscious, whether boys or girls, they are all fascinated by it. People want to look their best in order to impress others.

In the olden days, man’ was quite uncivilised. He covered his body with leaves of trees or he used to live naked. But as time advanced, he became civilized and cultured. The result was that dress became a part and parcel of his life.
A fashion may be defined as a mode or way or manner in which a thing is done or made.- Broadly speaking, it means a slight departure from the usual. In common talk, it means following the up-to-date cut and style in tailoring standards. Fashions change every other day. “Fashion,” said Oscar Wilde, “is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months.” The dress of today becomes the ridicule of tomorrow. The fact, however, remains that the fashions are a special feature of the modern competitive society
Fashions are highly short-lived and dynamic. They change as seasons change during the year. Life does not have a fixed set of values. The code of conduct changes. The ways of thought change very rapidly. Static persons fail to keep pace with the fast changes. Human mind likes change, movement and variety. With the gearing up of the tempo of modern, life, the change in dress which the young men and women wear, comes almost unnoticed. The change becomes the acknowledged norm of the day.
Now-a-days dress has been given a great importance. It is very difficult to point out from the outward appearance of a youth whether one is a girl or a boy. Boy cuts arc liked by girls, and the boys ; shirts and pantaloons worn by girls make them look like boys.
With the advent of space travel, the world is becoming smaller and smaller. People of different countries are coming closer. It results in the interchanging of the dress with that of foreign countries. The foreigners are imitating us in their dress.
Change is the law of nature. Tennyson has rightly said : “The old order change, yielding place to new.” Sometimes girls begin to start wearing tight clothes to show off the different organs of the body. Girls look exactly like hoys in their pantaloons,and shirts. Sometimes people start wearing loose clothes.
However, none can deny that people have become quite fashionable. There is smartness in the appearance of even villagers. Elderly people also wish to appear spick and span in dress. Fashions, no doubt, enhance the charm of a woman and are a great attraction to the male students. If our fore-fathers visit us these days, they will not be able to recognize us.
Fashions, however, have their own toll to take. Such is the tyranny of the fashions that most of the poor parents who cannot afford new dresses have to remain in a stale of constant tension. Moreover, fashionable dresses, at times, are not at all comfortable to wear. Tight dresses, for examples, are quite inconvenient to put on. There are several cases when tight dresses are torn to pieces, when the person wearing them tries to stoop down to catch a bus. Some dresses are not medically suited to the body. They cause illness and skin troubles. But the lovers of fashion pay no heed to all this. In their desire to appear smart and attractive, they do not mind paying any price.
Fashions among students extend not only to their dresses, but to so many other things also. “Variety,” says Shakespeare, “is the spice of life.” Fashions keep on changing every day in the matter of food habits, social customs and ceremonies, eating habits, films, books, entertainments and the like. In fact, fashions add a touch of charm and romance to life. Life would have been dull and dreary if things had always remained unchanged.
